Q: How does taking pills cure acid reflux if it is caused by a weak led valve which allows the acid to flow up?
How does pills cure acid reflux
A: They actually shut off some of the pumps making acid in the stomach so that there will be less acid made. If there is less acid made, it should be all used up in digestion and therefore not around to reflux into the esophagus.
If you look-they are actually called acid reducers
Q: Is it possible to cure acid reflux without meds?
I have SILENT REFLUX meaning it goes into my throat. But you can’t feel it, and it’s worse than acid reflux(GERD) But i really don’t want to take medicine, is it true you can get rid of it by changing diets, and how you live rather than meds?
A: The main reason for any type of acid reflux is lack of digestive enzymes and low stomach acid. An old remedy still used to help with digestion is apple cider vinegar. Ginger is also another remedy to increase digestion. Heat destroys enzymes so eating a diet higher in raw foods (eg fruits, nuts) is benefical. Chewing more thoroughly is another way to break down food to help with the digestive process. Also, you can increase digestive enzymes in the diet with digestive enzyme supplements. They are made from plants and there are no side effects. These links go into further detail:

Q: acid reflux cure by eating apples?
I have really bad acid reflux. I am about to have my 4th prcedure to dialate my esophogus in 2 years. I have read all the advice on medications and lifestyle changes, but I was wondering if anyone heard about a remedy involving eating a slice of an apple as well as two other food types during or before a meal to cure reflux? If so, how does it work?
A: The two foods that I recommend is Black strap Molasses and Raw honey. The apple is better for night time reflux while these will work for just about all of it. What you will do is take about a tsp. of whatever one you chose. Molasses being the better because of strength and nutrition, but must be use to the taste. What the substance will do is stick to the sides of the esophagus and do two things, one is heal and the other is protect.
On the healing end, both substances have a healing property in them, and as they sit on the walls of the esophagus they will heal it. This is also helpful if you have a sore throat in the morning from refluxing.
On the protection end, both substances are high in sugar and when acid that is refluxed comes up to that the sugar will neutralize it and it will not longer be a problem at that point.
I would also look to putting Cinnamon in you diet, it has been know to help with digestion and will help you reduce the amount of acid need to brake down food, therefore causing you to reflux less.
Q: Can having an infected tooth Pulled cure Acid Reflux Disease?
I had a infected tooth pulled recently and have been noticing that I have no more acid reflux, and I haven’t even been taking my medications. I looked it up online and I heard that having bad teeth pulled can cure some medical problems. Has anyone ever had this happen?
A: if you are having dental problem it can lead to many other ailments, from stomach issues, to heart disease and cancer. Your mouth functions in such a way that whatever is present in your mouth gets absorbed into your blood stream and redistributed throughout your body. Holistic dentistry preaches this and additionally uses this as the justification for recommending removal of old mercury filling and replacing them with white fillings. mercury is toxic and they believe that over time the mercury in the fillings begins to oxidize and be absorbed and may cause a host of ailments, including cancer. If you do a search on holistic dentistry you can find a wealth of information regarding this issue.
Q: What is the best way to naturally cure heartburn (acid reflux)?
I am beginning to think that I have acid reflux disease. I have been experiencing some severe heartburn of late and would like to find a solution. Preferably natural cures for heartburn or heartburn home remedies that work. I prefer the home remedy approach as it usually is safer and less expensive. Looking forward to your help.
A: I actually had some very severe heartburn a few months back. I tried everything, even most of the heartburn home remedies listed above. Cinnamon and water did not work. Baking soda didnt work. I even tried the can of beer, which made my heartburn even worse. I actually thought I was doomed and destined to never cure heartburn and live with it forever. My doctor had even told me that acid reflux is a lifetime condition and that there was no cure. I randomly came across and ad one day while trying to find some acid reflux home remedies online and came across this book, Heartburn No More. This book took the holistic approach and sounded very appealing. I had nothing to lose so I bought the book and followed the program to the tee. I was really blown away by the fact that in approx 20 days since I started applying the dietary and cleansing principals outlined in the book, my acid reflux was completely cured. The burning sensation, the chest pain, the bloating and the constant burping have completely disappeared. It really feels like magic. Im telling you, try Heartburn No More, you wont be disappointed.

My family and I suffer from acid reflux for more than 13 years. Does anyone have a cure to help us get rid of it? Please help!

A: It’s a shame when people post answers to sell their products…
If lifestyle changes haven’t helped the problem, then you may want to consult a natural doctor (whether it be Chinese medicine, homeopathic, chiropractor, or another one in your area). There is something going on in your body that is causing this problem (which is highly unusual for a 13 year old) and removing the cause of the problem is the only way to completely get rid of it. Herbs and Chinese medicine can definitely treat the symptoms of the reflux and nausea, but without knowing the underlying problem that’s causing it, you’ll just be taking that product for the rest of your life instead of fixing the problem causing it.
If your parents don’t want to pay for a natural doctor to help you, then you could point that out… taking medicine over the course of the next 5+ years that they’ll have to pay for vs. a trip or two to that doctor. (it’s MUCH cheaper for the doctor to fix it than to take medicine for years)
Also, I agree that you shouldn’t get on the drugs… those will do much worse to your body than the reflux would. I know people that have bone and joint problems (among others) because the reflux medicine prevents most of the stomach acid they need to digest their food. Good luck!
Q: How to cure Acid Reflux?
I’m 14 and I have had acid reflux for about a month now! Are there any home remedies that can help me cure it???
A: If you do have acid reflux, there is no home remedy to cure it. Some things to try to help control it are, don’t eat and lay down right away, put some books or something under the posts at the top of your bed to raise your head, eat slowly and chew your food more. Acid reflux is when the stomach acid and contents come back up out of your stomach and into your esophagus. There is a valve at the end of your esophagus that’s supposed to stop this from happening. If this is what’s happening you really need to see your doctor and have it checked out. Even if it’s just indigestion you should still go see your doctor about it to find out what’s causing it and get something to help you. It could turn out to be nothing to worry about, or it could be the start of something more serious like ulcers or a problematic gal bladder or that valve itself.
Q: What are some natural ways to cure acid reflux??
What are some ways to treat it without taking a pill everyday??
A: Not a cure, but seems to helps symptoms by laying on the left side..also taking a natural tablet of papaya (found in vitamin stores/pharmacies) these helped me a lot and they are natural
Q: Is there a natural way to cure acid reflux? I’m tired of taking pills?
A: It’s not pleasant, but a teaspoon of vinegar. The reason you get acid reflux is because your stomach is producing to much acid. The vinegar tells it that’s enough. It won’t happen immediately, but eventually things will balance out. Anti-acids neutralize acid, but it will come back.
Q: Is there any way I can cure my acid reflux?
I’m only 14, and I got a little acid reflux because I drank too much soda last year. Thanks, 10 points to the best answer.
A: Drinking a little soda from last year would not cause or bring on acid reflux. Are you sure that is what you have? Most times our diet is what brings on these things.
If there is a food you eat (eg pizza) that brings it on…dont eat pizza! Fatty and fried foods, spicy foods, acidy foods (tomato sauce) can cause heartburn and worsen acid reflux.
Try this. If after you eat and you get acid reflux, try a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. You can chase it down with water. If that makes you better then it could be that you dont have enough acid to properly digest your food.
For me a couple of TUMS settles’s any heartburn nicely too, and they are cheap in comparison to other meds.
When you start getting into meds like ZANTAC, these are actually presciption meds (or were once upon a time!!) and you have to be careful. What they do is reduce the acid your stomache produces to digest the food. They will reduce the acid and keep it at a reduced level throughout the day. For people with excessive acid this will help for sure, but I tend to believe it’s balanced diet.
I find it ridiculous that people expect a pill to allow them to eat whatever they want whenever they want.
The body wasn’t made for certain foods and no pill will magically alter that….not without consequences in the long haul anyhow.
Q: What type of exercises to do to cure acid reflux ?
A: I have acid reflux, plus hernia and gerd I take one tablespoon of apple cider vinager 3 times a day…. gone!
You can use regular also. If you have fried foods that use catsup use vinager instead. Don’t eat after 6pm. Sleep upright inclined if you have to. Use products like Zantac found at your drug stoes. Go see a doctor!
You will have to be careful what you eat, stay away from caffeine altogether.
Q: Quick cure for acid reflux symptoms?
I have acid reflux but some times run out of priloce is there any at home quik remedies?
A: I have the same problem. Sorry man. Prilosec is the best thing I’ve found yet. If you have some Tums or Rolaids around they work for an hour or so at a time. A glass of milk helps for maybe an hour, but just a little.
