Q: Acid reflux?
My baby had the following symptoms since birth (now he is 7 mo) but doctors in our country don’t say anything about reflux or its possible treatment, all they say is that babies have horizontally positioned stomach and the opening muscle is weak and they have these symptoms and they will grow out of it. But I see my baby suffer a lot, so I want to know whether his symptoms show that he has reflux. If he does I want to give him Zantac.
He: sometimes spits up after eating,
fusses and when held upright burps a lot
hiccups a lot, usually starts after a burp
arches his back when being fed
refuses to sleep, arching his back, wakes up a lot during the night
he refused to eat from 2 mo till he was 5mo (I forced during that period)
now eats only 3.5-5 oz per time (25 oz per day), little appetite
he is little underweight
Please, help me to determine whether he has reflux. I repeat, I went to lots of doctors they don’t know about reflux.
Thank you all for replying, I don’t know how to rate though
My son is formula fed, I switched many different and this Korean one is the one he likes and eats. I took him to pediatricians, they would only say something about child’s stomach characteristics. What is reflux anyway? What exactly will I see if I take him to upper GI? Also, what is the exact name of Efamil AR and Gentle ease, I looked it up and there were soo many different Efamils.
Thank you!
A: For my son I used the Enfamil A.R. Lipil which worked very good for him.
Q: any mom have a baby with acid reflux?
my son is 2 months old and for the past 4 days he will spit up like 2-3 hrs ater he eats and it smells like vomit, plus today i have a hard time giving him a bottle, now he actually doesnt gag or anything when it comes up just regular spitting up,im going to call my doc tomorrow to see if it could be acid reflux becuase i have looked it up and i geuss it could be that, anyone else’s baby have acid reflux?what were the symptoms and treatment? all answers appreciated, best answer gets 10 pts
A: Hi I have some experience with this. My daughter started having similar symptoms almost immediately after we made it home from the hospital. She would spit up after almost every meal. She arched her back a lot and would throw her head back all of which are signs of acid reflux. We had an upper GI which is a test where the baby drinks a bottle of barium and then Xrays are taken. The test is fast and simple BUT the baby has to have the test on a empty stomach so she cried because she was hungry AND they won’t diagnose it as reflux unless the baby actually refluxes during the test (and my daughter didn’t). My pediatrician gave us two options: 1) antacid, I think it was zantac but I can’t remember now. My friend used the medicine and it did not reduce her daughter’s symptoms. 2) wait it out. We opted to wait it out because I didn’t feel comfortable giving meds to a 3 week old. I know waiting it out sounds kind of tough but basically the idea was that the problem would correct itself as her tummy got bigger. Long story short, it completely stopped by around 3 months. My pediatrician recommended keeping her upright for 20 minutes after feeding (either holding her upright or putting her in a car seat, swing, etc.) which allows the food to digest and helps it stay down. Also make sure the baby doesn’t over eat and burp the baby with every meal. We did these simple things and before I knew it, problem solved.

Q: Acid Reflux Drug Free?
Acid reflux.
Coming out of acid reflux. My story may be able to help some of you.
They say that acid reflux is caused by poor eating habits and or bacteria in your stomach.
Right before my episode with acid reflux I was eating healthy, in perfect shape and had my perfect work hard.
Once day, I stared having all the symptom of acid reflux and no one knew what I had. This went on for months. I forced my doctor to check for Helicobacter pylori. which I ended up testing positive.
I got omeprazole (Prilosex) plus 2 antibiotics. 4 pills a day for 14 days.
After the treatment my stomach was hitching and I still had a hard time eating. I was still creating too much acid so my doctor give me again omeprazole (Prilosex). I refused to be on any drug and I knew that the omeprazole (Prilosex) was not the answer it was just a bandage without dealing with the root of the problem.
This is what I did:
I knew the Key out of this was: I need to keep the body alkaline, the bad bacteria don’t like an alkaline environment.
I stop take the omeprazole (Prilosex) and starting taking a of Jarro Dophilus EPS (can find it in health store). The 3rd day I started to feel the difference. I was able to eat more verity of food.
Aloe vera juice before every meal
Eating every 3 hrs small meal. No row vegetable – fresh steam vegetable only and protein. No oily or greasy food at all, not black chocolate , not alcohol, no caffeine, no soda and not spices in your food. Avoid hot water, somehow my system does quite down with colder drink and food.
I eat protein and green 3 time a day and a lot of low fat low sugar organic yogurt as snack and all day.
I take 4 pills a day of Jarro Dophilus EPS . One pill 45 min before every meal to help my stomach and intestines get their natural bacteria back while controlling the excess of acid the stomach is creating. Drink the pills with hot water It makes swallowing the pills easier.
I drink Apple Cider Vinegar (2 table spoons in 0.5l drink of water) throughout the day with a lot of water.
I don’t mix the protein & green vegetable with fruits.
Sugar create more acid so I am very careful with the fruits I eat (low sugar index fruits only) and I don’t eat any carbohydrate for the same reason.
I recommend: Cranberry juice-Prune juice (the sugar free type mix with H2O)
2 tea spoons of honey mix with water before eating.
Avocado-apples-banana-melon-walnuts-almonds-tofu-sweet potato-fish-Grilled chicken (legs grilled) easier on your stomach. Not red meat at the beginning it is too hard on the stomach. Camomile tea help digestion process.
Stop eating 3hrs before bedtime. I sleep with your upper body higher than the bed level almost in a semi sitting position.
I don’t lift weight or jog because I was creating too much acid and it was giving me some palpitation. (yes, the doctor said that the palpitation have nothing to do with acid reflux-there not connected-well doctor have news for you everything is connected and how can a super athlete with no hard problem get some palpitation every time his stomach create too much acid).
To avoid the palpitation, I ride my bike slowly without too much effort, and also walk. I make sure I space out my workout throughout the day.
Now I am getting better and I know you can be acid reflux free..it take time and patience.
I am almost certain that a lot of us will test negative for every test on the planet regarding stomach bacteria but small bacteria such as Escherichia coli-E-coli and other don’t really have a test for them and you could have something in your system putting your stomach out of balance. So fight back by drinking Apple Cider Vinegar to clean your system and work on increasing the growth of the good bacteria your body need. Mediation is a must in the healing process
Good luck to you all.
A: I think this thing that cured my brother’s GERD is much easier but happy to hear you got yours cured
What my brother who very severe gerd did is found here…much cheaper and easier
http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1391353#i read all the posts by knowledge seeker in that thread
Dr Wallick of dead doctors don’t lie talked about the Helicobacter pylori way before this became mainstream and recommended this to fix it
see Number 1 at this link
http://www.kingmaker.net/DeadDoctorstxt.html#1.%20Ulcers,%20caused%20by%20stress?
Perhaps it was fixed by the apple cider vinegar which is what Kevin trudeau who wrote the book natural cures they do not want you to know says to use for this
If someone is trying that, be aware that pasteurized vinegar is not safe to consume and only use raw apple cider vinegar which contain the “mother” In the us this is found at health food stores and sections of the supermarket..the most common brand names are braggs and spectrum
I definitely agree that one needs to be alkaline and moist foods are not alkaline but acid except for most fruits and veggies but eating them raw is key not cooked. Cooked foods may be at the root of many of our heath problems , I am lately discovering having been exposed to a number of books, films and websites on it and its miraculous healing power as well as my own recent experiments on myself is showing me that most of our problems can be helped by switching to a 85% or better raw food, whole food, vegan diet although 100% raw is optimal as a goal. We are the only species that eats our food cooked and suffer from all these disease except for the animals that we feed.
I feel some of this is poor advice like eating only cooked produce and no fruits as we need these in the form of raw fruits and veggies which are carbs and he said no carbs. Optimally one should only take whole grains in raw form as in sprouting them or soaking oats, spelt flakes, millet, or using raw muscli cereal but we need complex carbs in the form of raw produce, and grains as described above.
Also we need healthy fats as found in things like flax seeds, flax seed oils, cold pressed oils (raw), chia seeds (very high in omega three fats) avocados, raw walnuts, purslane, greens etc
For optimal health and to prevent deficiencies) , with your mainly raw food vegan diet, have lots of green smoothies (1 or more quarts a day), algaes and seaweeds and grasses (wheat and barley grass juice/powders), and lots of fresh juices ( including the cabbage mentioned at the link for this problem)..take no pulp or food for 15-20 minutes while drinking the juice which must be drank right away so it goes to healing and repair and not to digestion..done this way it is assimilated within 10-15 minutes
Some of the other raw foods in addition to produce, raw nuts and seeds and their butters, cold pressed oils and extra virgin olive oils and seaweeds, and sprouted whole grains and raw cereals already mentioned, one can also consume sprouted legumes, fermented foods like kimchee and raw sauerkraut, nut cheeses, frozen fresh fruit sorbets, freshly made almond milk, dried produce and dehydrated crackers, breads, chips etc as long as the not heated above about 110 degrees. One can have raw dressings and soups and one can heat the soup slightly to warm finger touch and it is still raw.
If one is doing 15% cooked one can have things like beans, whole grains, vegan cheeses and milks, homemade soups, cooked veggies and fruits, baked potatoes, and natural sweeteners if using them such as agave nectar (which can be raw), raw honey, real maple syrup, rice and barley malt, stevia, date sugar and other natural sweeteners used very sparingly. :
One can also try natural herbs/foods that kill viruses, bacteria, fungus and protozoa such as raw garlic, oil of oregano, organic olive leaf tincture/extract, grapefruit seed oil and/or colloidal silver.

Q: Possible GERD/acid reflux – anyone with experience?
For the last few years, I’ve experienced the occasional sensation of feeling like something’s in my throat or difficulty swallowing. It’s increased over the last couple of years (occurring more often or feeling worse) but never to the point where it’s disrupted daily activities or anything like that. However, it seems to have taken a turn for the worse over the last few months, and specifically the last few weeks. I feel sick after eating just about anything (I can’t identify a trigger food(s)), but my stomach isn’t the problem–it’s a feeling in my throat/chest. If I have any pain, it’s either in my chest or in the V-shaped area directly below my sternum, between my rib cage and stomach. There’s an almost constant feeling of something being in my throat, sometimes just annoying (as it’s been on and off for several years) and sometimes to the point where it feels like I’m about to vomit. There’s been a couple of instances where it felt like vomit was actually rising back through my esophagus, even though my stomach was just fine (even hungry) and there were no other symptoms–I was just fine and all of a sudden had the sensation of throwing up. It’s now an everyday thing–every time I eat and sometimes when I don’t–so it’s really disrupting ordinary life. I’m a 3rd grade teacher, and this isn’t conducive to standing up and teaching all day (including after lunch). I’m only 22 and have always been healthy; I would like to be able to go out, date, etc. like a normal 22 year old and I can’t because I constantly feel sick (but not like when I was young and had a virus or something) or I’m afraid that I will feel that way, especially if I eat something. I’ve tried Tums, Ranitidine (in an Equate brand acid reducer), Gas-X with Maalox, Pepto-Bismol (which helped nausea but nothing else), and Rolaids and have had no luck. I’m trying Prevacid (the 14-day treatment) starting tomorrow–has anyone had any success with that? I don’t know what else this could be; I’ve looked up the symptoms of GERD and they are basically an exact replica of what I feel. I don’t smoke, I’m not overweight (if anything, I’m almost underweight–but it’s a normal weight for me), I eat a good variety of food, there’s no possibility of pregnancy–all of the risk factors they list. I’m thinking that I need to go to the doctor (and plan to), but in the meantime, does anyone have any experience with this? What helped? Do my symptoms sound like GERD or acid reflux to you? Any help is greatly appreciated–I just want to feel normal again.
A: Sounds like it’s your Gallbladder. Either infected and swollen with gallstones or inflamed stomach from lining erosion. Hard to tell without more information.
You may need an upper G.I. performed to insure it’s not your stomach and an Ultra-sound for for the liver, gallbladder and pancreas.
You can try some keywords over at curezone.com to see if anyone else has had the same problems.
Hope this helps….
Q: Acid reflux in 2 week old..help!?
I’m pretty positive my 2 week old has a mild case of acid reflux..
first off, how dangerous is it? what kind of treatment is necessary?
His pediatrician won’t be in til tuesday and I want to help my little one asap!
his symptoms include:
wanting to eat every two hours, being really uncomfortable after feedings, arching his back, fuzzy once we lay him down, burping alot, being really gassy, just in pain after feedings mostly.
A: It sounds like it could be reflux, but it doesn’t sound like it’s too severe so aside from an uncomfortable baby, he’ll be fine to wait until Tuesday to see his pediatrician.
My son had reflux and it took 5 doctor appointments before we finally got the right treatment for it. What you can do until you get him to his dr is burp him often while eating, and try feeding smaller amounts if he’s not already taking small amounts and you can get away with it. Hold him upright for 20-30 minutes after each meal. Some people will say bottle feed (I don’t know if you’re breast or bottle feeding) and add rice to the bottle, but we did it per the advice of our pediatrician and it didn’t help anyway, then I found out it can be a choking hazard. If he’s in a crib, elevate the head of the crib around 30 degrees, you can just stick some magazines under the mattress even, you don’t need anything too fancy. I would try to avoid actually bending the mattress though, my son had a tendency to slide down the slope and end up lying sideways where the matress would bend, it always worried me…Everything I’m telling you here came straight from my pediatrician and it all helped a great deal.
My son wouldn’t even breastfeed it was so bad, the only thing we could get down him was soy based formula, but I wouldn’t switch to that without a talk with the pediatrician first. We ended up having to put him on prevacid too, we started with zantac but it didn’t do anything for him.
I know it can be a difficult thing to watch your little one go through, so I hope you can find a treatment that works quickly! Best of luck
Q: Teen suffering from acid reflux!?!? HELP!?
Hi there!
I am a female teen suffering from what the GI believes is acid reflux. Prevacid helps a little but not too much. What other treatment could be available? I am waiting to get test results back and am also having a few more tests done tomorrow. This morning I woke up with a dry cough and and scratchy throat as if I have been screaming for a while but I havent been screaming. What does this mean? Also, there is a stomach bug going around, what are the chances of me getting it? Please answer the following questions:
~What are other treatment options if Prevacid isn’t working?(I am a female teen)
~What is this throat and dry cough sitaution for…like a cold or could it be part of acid reflux?
~Does this sound like acid reflux?
~If blood work and barium x rays come back negative, what other tests are there?
~How much longer do I have with this(i have had this for a month and a half)?
~When does surgery as treatment come in?
Thank for all the help!!!!!!
PS- Any other teens sufforing with acid reflux? Any suggestions or stories?
And also, I ate salsa with chips last night with soda for dinner and I was reallly sick. The symptoms are worse?!
A: I have suffered from GERD in the past so I know a little about it.
1. Other treatment options would include other prescription medications, there are more than just Prevacid, and sometimes it is trial and error to find what works for you. I did well on prescription Pepcid.
Watching what you eat is extremely important. That means cutting out foods that trigger stomach upset (LIKE SALSA and CHIPS and SODA!!). Your doctor should have given you a list of foods that are bad for GERD, it is important to follow that until you get your symptoms under control.
2. The throat/cough thing..not sure. I know if you have acid come up your throat at night it can give you a burning sensation in your throat the next day. VItal to NOT eat anything after dinner, keep your stomach empty before bed to limit how much acid is in your stomach.
3. I would not go for any more tests if everything so far is negative for other problems, then you probably have basic GERD.
4. I don’t think you have any surgery unless you have bleeding ulcers or something very serious, I can’t imagine you have anything THAT serious!
I know for myself, what I did when I was suffering from pain in my throat and GERD symptoms, I STOPPED: Cola, Tea, anything spicy, no sauce, no chocolates….I went on as BLAND a diet as I could…but for about 3 months. I swear, everything healed in that 3 months, and I hardly suffered any symptoms. Then, I slowly introduced some things, like I love ice tea, and even chocolate…but IN MODERATION. I was careful to note when it triggered GERD again.
ALSO, one more thing…if you are overweight, even by 10 or 20 pounds…losing that weight can really really help. When I lost some weight, the pressure around my stomach seemed to go and I did not suffer GERD symptoms for many YEARS. So, if you need to lose some weight, do it!
We EAT to live. We do not LIVE to EAT!!! Try to rethink food, food is for nutrition, energy and good health. You need to realize that with GERD – you will have to make intelligent choices for eating. There are a ton of web sites with diet information and other treatments that can help you, read as much as you can.
PS…I normally do not drink much water as I don’t like it, but when I increased drinking water with my meals, my digestion was way so much better. Just a suggestion.
Q: Hoping someone can give honest advice-Long term Prilosec use for acid reflux?
I have been using Prilosec for the last 5 years after being diagnosed with GERD. Seemed to work great for a long time, now I still have acid reflux and I’m worried about the long term use of this stuff.
My Dr. says its fine to use. At the same time, I’m living everyday with chronic fatigue, daily headaches that turn to migraines, feeling miserable, aching everywhere- on top of that now sinus tachycardia and heart problems. Then I’m told well I have Fibromyalgia.
Ok, Randomly today I happen to run into 2 older ladies that flat out said, don’t use that Prilosec as I was in the CVS isle buying more.
One said she almost died from long term use of prilosec and for years had anemia and her iron was depleted. I’m scared now and would like to know if I can stop Prilosec suddenly and completely without withdrawl symptoms? The box says do not stop treatment.
That is for a 14 day dose. I’ve been taking it for years and now I’m worried.
Could using this for years have made my fatigue worse and feeling terrible and the migraines and heart trouble?
Could this have hurt my stomach or damaged anything.
I don’t want to depend on a drug to control acid and the GERD all day.
A: Your concerns about Prilosec (and all acid-inhibiting drugs) is right on point. In addition, your diversity of symptoms suggest that acid reflux is NOT the cause of your problems, but a product of the underlying condition that is probably causing all or most of your symptoms.
First, Prilosec causes malabsorption of various nutrients (e.g. Vitamin B12, iron, Zinc, etc.) Deficiency of any or all of these can lead to anemia.
Second, Prilosec causes Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), which can cause a variety of problems, including more acid reflux!
Finally, as you are recognizing, Prilosec does NOT treat the CAUSE of your reflux. It is a symptom masking drug only.
Fatigue, headaches, fibromyalgia, etc. can be long-term consequences of nutrient deficiencies and/or SIBO.
Additionally, some other underlying condition that caused your reflux in the first place may be present. The most likely is Celiac Disease (CD) – an autoimmune disease that damages the small intestine and leads to malabsorption of nutrients (if you have CD, you could have a “double-whammy” of malabsorption caused by the disease and the Prilosec!). CD is caused by an allergic reaction to the proteins in wheat, rye and barley called glutens/gliadins. The only treatment is nutritional – avoidance of all sources of glutens/gliadins in your diet (which is why most medical doctors routinely ignore this COMMON condition).
It might be wise to have a thorough evaluation by a nutritionally trained health care professional.
Best wishes and good luck.
Q: Anyone else has GERD Disease (acid reflux disease) or know someone who does?
I have been diagnose with GERD 2 years ago, this was since I started college and has some what triggered this because of my high stress levels. I`ve taken pills but that hasn’t worked. And quit other treatment because it was too expensive for me, can’t afford it. So right now I took a semester off school because my symptoms have been worsening. But now they are ok, they are not improving, only the heartburn part. But I’ve been on green tea and eating a lot of yogurt and lactobactilus pills, to see if that’s a better way to deal with this. I would like to know if GERD disease or acid reflux condition causes serious health conditions in the future, if you don’t get treatment and stuff? What are some things you do daily to deal with this awful situation? or what advice can you give me? I would appreciate your help. Thanks.
A: I have it but Prilosec is what works for me I took one a day for about six months and now I’m up to the point where I can go for two days with out taking one. I’ve been told that if not treated GERD’s can cause problems with your esophagus later during your life time. IT could possibly lead to cancer so yes you should be treated as much as possible. I’m not sure what medications you were given but you should try until you find one that works. There are a lot of over the counter medications in fact Prilosec is an over the counter one.
Q: Homework help? Please answer?
School started for us last Wednesday and there already giving us homework (I’m not complaining)
My homework assignment is for my health class. I have to write a report on Acid Reflux. I know what acid reflux is but I need more information about it. Does anyone know of any articles or websites where I can find more information? This is what I need to include in my report:
What acid reflux is
how many people are affected by acid reflux
signs and symptoms
What causes acid reflux
foods to avoid
acid reflux treatments
natural treatments for acid reflux (I’m including this in my report cause my teacher is into natural health stuff and so am I)
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
A: What is GERD (acid reflux)? – Gastroesophageal reflux disease, commonly referred to as GERD or acid reflux, is a condition in which the liquid content of the stomach regurgitates (backs up or refluxes) into the esophagus.
What causes GERD? – The cause of GERD is complex. There probably are multiple causes, and different causes may be operative in different individuals, or even in the same individual at different times.
What are the symptoms of uncomplicated GERD?
What are the complications of GERD?
How is GERD diagnosed and evaluated?
How is GERD treated?
What is a reasonable approach to the management of GERD?
What are the unresolved issues in GERD?

Q: Giardia Treatment for a person?
Is it possible to contract Giardia from a person, but that person not have any illness from it? How do I get treatment, and are these symptoms that I have from having Giardia. My symptoms are bloating, cramps, warm sensation on lower back sides, constipation, with yellow oily mucus with light brown thumb size stool. Does anyone have any info. I just purchased Prilosec and just started on it since maybe it’s just acid reflux.
A: Usually giardia is transmitted by drinking contaminated water, and not person to person contact, it in some people causes mild diarrheal illness. Your symptoms, although consistent with Giardia, could also respresent celiac disease, a fat malapsorption disorder, or other GI issues.
The easiest way to sort this out is to send of a stool specimen for parasites, which usually picks up the giardia. The treatment is metronidazole, and usually is pretty effective. If the stool test is negative, then I would try to get to see a GI doctor, as they can work you up for other things.
Q: Is IBS in any way connected with protozoal infection ?
For yrs,I suffered acid reflux, and IBS symptoms. I’ve had anxiety and depression. I have allergic rhinitis and CFS . I also had severe bouts of headache at the upper part of my back neck area that occurs after eating when my stomach bloats. One of my Drs.said i might have giardiasis and had metronidazole for 3 weeks. Though I felt better, after treatment, the symptoms were back . I don’t think Drs can cure me anymore since Ive been prompt in visiting severel specialists already. I’m desperate.
A: IBS and acid reflux are all from the same issue; LOW STOMACH ACID! When you have low stomach acid, you will not kill the bad germs that enter your stomach. The antacids prescribed for this condition make it worse. You may feel better for a short while by just treating the symptoms as medical people do, but the root cause will still be there, as you have experienced.
What happens is the food you eat is supposed to be broken down by the stomach acid, especially proteins in your stomach. In order for this to happen, the pH of the stomach must be lowered by the stomach acid to between 0.8 pH and 3.0 pH. If you don’t produce enough acid, the pyloric sphincter at the bottom of your stomach will not open. This leaves the food in your stomach to rot and putrefy. This putrefaction causes methane gas to be produced, just like what happens in garbage, and causes a pressure to build up in the stomach. The cardio sphincter at the top of the stomach tries to remain closed, but when the pressure builds up, it causes the LACTIC ACID produced by the rotting, disgusting food mass to back up into your esophagus and give you what they call “acid reflux.”
So instead of addressing this root cause, they give you antacids to neutralize the stomach acid, right? So, it does that, but also neutralizes the LACTIC ACID and you feel better. But, now, you’ve destroyed your ability to digest your food. So, that disgusting mass of rotting, putrefying chyme goes into your intestines and throws off toxins. These toxins end up in your liver and it gets overwhelmed so it gives the job to your kidneys. You get constipation, diarrhea, etc. depending upon the flavor of the month germs.
The IBS comes because the only lightly acidic chyme gets into the intestines and irritates the intestinal walls. This low acid condition is not acidic enough to trigger the pancreas to secrete bicarbonate to neutralize the acidic chyme, leaving this slightly acid mass to move into your intestines and irritate the walls. When you add the toxins from this putrefying mess, you can see why your body gets infected.
To top it off, many parasites, as well as bacteria and viruses that are normally killed by good acid production in the stomach, are free to roam about your body and wreak havoc!
The headaches and sinus problems have their root cause in infections in the intestines and liver.
You can solve his issue easily. Eating cooked foods create a big need for more stomach acid. If you take a supplement, as I do after each meal, of Betaine HCL and an HCL activator, you will not get these problems. The effect is immediate and you won’t need to see a doctor. You won’t need antacids. You will reduce that spare tire due to bad digestion. You will have more energy because your food will actually be being digested for a change.
I cannot believe how the medical industry listens to the drug industry regarding this issue. I believe it is criminal how they dupe the public on this. The drug companies know the truth about this and continue making billions on this farce. It’s truly unbelievable.
E-mail me for more information on this if you like. I will be glad to get you the right information and the cost is very inexpensive to purchase the right products that will solve this issue for you.
good luck
Q: Can all of these be related? Like a bunch of symptoms explain by one syndrome?
My daughter has some issues and I think either all of her issues can be explained as symptoms to one big issue like some form of a syndrome or she is just really unlucky with a bunch of smaller issues. Here is some of what is wrong
1) She was born with an anterior placed anus (where her butt hole is too close to her girl parts) and it is too small, this causes a lot of bowel issues.
2) Her tear ducts and tubes in her ears are too small, this causes a lot of ear infections and eye infections, she has gotten tubes but so far they have not helped, she still is getting back to back ear infections.
3) Acid reflux
4) Severe respirtory issues. She is constantly sick with upper respirtory infections, constantly snotty, constant cold like symptoms
5) breathing promblems, she has to have a breathing treatment everynight, if she goes a day or so without one she starts to wheeze. Before we started the breathing treatments she would randomly have trouble breathing, turn blue, she was only 2 months old when this started, she is 9 months old now
6)She has a swallowing disorder called Dysphagia, she has trouble swallowing thin liquids. The liquids go into her lungs. We have to thicken all liquids so she wont choke on them
7) with that she has an immature eating style. you first learn to eat with your tongue going in and out to suck, then with baby foods you go up and down and with real solids your tongue should move side to side to push the food to where the molars should be for chewing, They said at nine months she should be moving side to side and her tongue is still stuck in the first stage of going in and out of her mouth
6 and 7 can be because we just found our she has very poor muscle tone in her mouth which causes her tongue to sometimes hang out
9) they are not sure yet but her therapist thinks she has poor muscle tone in her lower trunk which is why she sits like a sideways U she is so hunched over
10) Her PCP said that she was just slightly behind in gross motor skills but a good bit behind in communication
11) she is also anemic and needs iron everyday
Just one of these is enough to worry a new single young mother but when you add all of them together im starting to get a little freaked. Her PCP is kinda dismissive of me (I have changed her dr several times I am having a hard time getting anyone to listen to me) and she has only had one therapy session so far and thats just for the feeding issues and during that evaluation the therapist didnt say anything about thinking that there is a syndrome or something that she has not been dignosed with yet.
Do yall know of any syndrome of something that this could be is my daughter just cursed with a lot of issues (verses one thing that explains everything)
A: There is a syndrome called 1p36 deletion syndrome (or monosomy 1p36). Basically, a person with this syndrome has one fully intact chromosome 1, and the other is missing a piece (identified by geneticists as the p36 region). This syndrome has several symptoms, and they vary depending on how much of the chromosome is missing. However, the symptoms do include tear duct abnormalities, infant reflux, dysphagia, reduced muscle tone, developmental delays, and nose abnormalites. It can also cause genitourinary abnormalities, which could relate to the anterior placed anus.
There are several places on the web with information for this syndrome. You can check out a list of symptoms here:
http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/c/chromosome_1_1p36_deletion_syndrome/symptoms.htm#symptom_list
as well as a picture of a toddler with the syndrome on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1p36_deletion_syndrome
Definitely check the physical manifestations listed on these two sites (and others you can find) against what you see in your daughter. Things such as the prominent forehead, low set ears, flat nose bridge, abnormally bent fifth finder, short feet, etc. may or may not be seen, but if you can pick up on a couple of them it would help to narrow the problem.
Finally, ask your PCP for a referral to a genetic counselor. They can make sure the proper tests get performed to confirm or rule out this syndrome (and probably know more about other syndromes). Most PCP’s just don’t have time to learn about every rare disorder out there, but often are too stubborn to do a little checking for their patients. A genetic counselor would give you the expertise that you need.
Good luck with your quest. You are very correct in trying to find the root causes of these problems. If it is this syndrome, many things can be done to help your child’s development, and starting at this early of an age will be a tremendous boost!
Q: What are these symptoms of?
I’m seeing my Primary Dr. today and wondered if what I have symptoms of is Anxiety.

Nausea
Depression only due to the severe pain I’ve been in for over six years
Ever since stopping the morphine and valium my blood pressure has been high.

I took Inderal yesterday for high blood pressure from my Primary Dr. but B.P. stayed high and went up a few hours later to 140/102. The Pain management Dr. I saw yesterday didn’t give me any ideas of what I could have but I see my Primary Care Dr. today.
If it’s anxiety what’s the treatment?
I’m a mom of three kids who I drive to and from school everyday.
I know yahoo isn’t a medical dr. but does anyone have any ideas?
A: Hi: I won’t ask ,How u been? I know. Believe me I know.
Your not an anxiety freek. The medications u listed was the same shit they wanted me on.
To refresh: I had 103 degree spine curve and on pain meds for 7 years.
Each medication u listed causes the you to take the next medication on the list.
You were taking so many pills it caused acid reflux, not really but your throat was soar and and your stomach acidic.
Cymbalta for depression- stop it. Your not depressed your in pain. I tried that crap, I hated myself for not be able to do anything. Stop hating yourself.
Your looking for the miracle cure, so am I but these med are not the way. You prooved that.
My best advice is to take a pain med that does it for you.
Stop all the others , the only thing that happened to u was pain, then u started taking another pill and another pills.
I use Brand name oxycontin, if I use the generic I get all the side efects. I feel its the cleanest of all the meds I ve tried.
Ocaasionaly I take tumms to helps with digestion.
I will say to take something that cleans you out, your stomach is full of junk.
Need more please ask

Q: Stomach Problems with producing WAY TOO MUCH ACID?
Hi there!
I am a female that is 13 years old. I have been having stomach problems for 4 months now and still do not know exactly what they are. The symptoms are burning and gnawing pain next to left rib(towards bottom fof left rib) cage. I was on Prevacid which didn’t work at all and was switched to Prilosec. Prilosec is working a lot better. At times I dont have the pain. However, every morning I get a (what seems like) a gurgling noise, kinda like bubbling. I eat a healthy breakfast every morning and I am not hungry. It is not the type of noise like growling as if I am hungry and need something to eat. The noise lasts from 9 AM – 11:30 AM EVERY MORNING!!
The doctor did tests. These are the tests:
Upper Endoscopy(found acid reflux)
X-RAY(plain; found nothing)
Barium X -RAY (upper; found nothing)
Blood Work(2 times; found nothing) (tested for H.Pylory; negative)
Gall bladder and liver ultrasound (found nothing but a very small mass liver)
MRI Liver (found the mass was a very small fat deposit; needs no treatment; normal)
Hida Scan (normal; 71% out of 35%)
My questions are:
Are there anymore tests that can be done to figure out what is going on?
Do these results sound correct?
What do you think this is?
What do you think is the gurgling noise and why am I getting this?
Anybody else suffering/suffered from something like this?
PLEASE HELP! I AM GETTING FRUSTRATED AND JUST WANT TO GIVE UP. MY MOM SAYS THAT GIVING UP ISNT THE ANSWER AND I NEED TO CONTINUE WITH THE TESTS! THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!
A: This could all be related to the acid reflux, but I would recommend getting back in to see your doctor to let them know that you are concerned about what you are feeling right now.
And your mom is right although a number of the other tests came back normal continuing on with the tests and possibly seeing other doctors will help you with trying to find an answer to what is going on.
I am going to give you the link to a site that may help you find more information. The link is at: http://forums.obgyn.net/young-women
If you would ever like to talk one on one please feel free to e-mail me off site any time.
